Sage Written Word is an independent editing, writing and publishing consultancy dedicated to shaping and sharing the written word.
We like reading and telling stories, mucking about with words and helping you sell yourself (appropriately!). Sage doesn’t reject any manuscript out of hand, and we’ll always, always, give you a way forward for your work. On the rare instances we can’t help, we’ll refer you on to someone who can. After all, everyone has the right to tell their story.
We take all kinds of work (with a preference for novels), and specialise in helping first-time writers. We teach as we edit so you should have a greater knowledge of the publishing industry by the time we’re done with you. We also have great project management skills, and can help you plan your writing project from start to finish, whether it be a novel or a series of corporate reports.
Rebecca Wylie – Editor/Founder
Starting in traditional publishing, Rebecca decided to branch out on her own after seeing that many authors needed help long before they approached a publisher. She’s worked with first-time and independent writers, well-established authors and had the very great pleasure of seeing her charges published and move onto new projects. For Rebecca, being an editor is about ensuring that everyone with a story to tell has an opportunity to tell it, and to do it in such a way that is engaging, compelling and full of integrity. Rebecca handles all genres of writing from creative through to corporate, and has extensive not-for-profit, government and industry writing experience. Part editor, part comforter and part excessive giver of homework, Rebecca provides a supportive, sometimes humorous, and well-informed environment in which to grow your writing and make the most of your innate abilities.
Simone Forde – Editor
Words have always been a focus of Simone’s professional and personal pursuits. With a background in corporate and academic writing, an eye for detail, a not-so-secret passion for creative writing, and an ever increasing and wide-ranging book collection, editing and managing writing projects was a natural transition for Simone. Joining Sage has given Simone the freedom to take on projects from all areas of the literary and business worlds. Motivated by the desire to make your writing project come to life and to help you achieve your writing goals, Simone can help you deliver your project in a way that is comprehensive, supported and unique.
